EXCALIBUR

EXCALIBUR became my official Easter movie years ago.  It symbolizes the way things inevitably change. Pagan rituals roll into Christian rituals, which will someday roll into something else. “It’s the way of things,” Merlin says — and I always thought he was saying it’s not the costume that makes the play, it’s the themes beneath it.

At the heart of it all is the story of humanity: heroes, hope, betrayal, resurrection, redemption.

Just a great story.
