BERNIE WRIGHTSON
Bernie Wrightson’s artwork inspired my creative muse for decades. I still look through some of his collective illustrative books, find a picture and obsess over it till a short story spills out.
What’s more, he was one of my gateway drugs into horror. I have very distinct memories as a kid in the local magazine store, staring enthralled at “funny books” with salacious titles: House of Mystery, Eerie, Vampirella, and Creepy.
His line work was unparalleled, bringing poetry to many dark worlds. He’s missed terribly.
