Producer Riley Walsh received the following email from Jim Carl, director of the Nevermore Horror Film Festival:

Dear Riley,

Thanks so much for all your help these past weeks.  The screenings of THE FAMILIAR at the Nevermore Film Festival were fantastic!  The audience gave the film a thunderous applause, and we loved including it in the festival.  Attendance at the premiere screening exceeded 150 people.  The Sunday re-screening had almost 100 (not bad at all for a Sunday.)   I wish you could have attended.  You would have had a great time.

Of all the shorts in the FOUR MINUTES TIL SUNRISE program, THE FAMILIAR was the audience favorite, by a wide margin.

I’m holding onto the DVD you sent us because I would love to re-screen the film again sometime in the future at one of our other fests or revival horror series (with your permission, of course.)

We have 35mm theatrical screenings in the upcoming months of Videodrome, Dark Star, Alice, Sweet Alice, Lifeforce, Killer Klowns from Outer Space, Enemy Mine, Swamp Thing, The Manitou, Halloween III: Season of the Witch, Escape From New York, Happy Birthday to Me, The Fan, Big Trouble in Little China, The Last Starfighter, Legend, Buck Rogers in the 25th Century, among many, many others.   A re-screening of THE FAMILIAR in front of BIG TROUBLE IN LITTLE CHINA or LIFEFORCE would be a blast, I think!

Overall attendance at this year’s festival exceeded 2000 admissions; a record.

From all of us at Nevermore, have a wonderful week,

Jim Carl
