In a lot of ways, Tyler sums up what a Badass is all about: cut-throat, a loner, haunted by a past that has made their outlook on life pessimistic. A badasses’ constant companion is violence — and they have learned to live with it, make it a friend as well as their tool. 

But a true Badass still has a rough devotion to an ideal, whether it be to a country, a cause or even a child’s welfare; something that still keeps their morality from slipping totally to the dark. For Ham Tyler, when you see him dress up as Santa Claus or put himself in danger to save others, you realize even the most hardened can be the most vulnerable.
